I am so glad I decided to take part in the December photo a day challenge run by Fat Mum Slim. Yet again, it gave me an opportunity to get creative and think about each day with a different perspective.
For those who are unfamiliar with the challenge, participants are provided with a list of daily prompts on which they need to base their photos. Then it’s simply time to get snapping!
I’m not a newbie to the photo a day challenge, having already put my hand up in September – you can see my photo gallery here.
If you think you’re not creative enough or a great photographer to take part, don’t. I really didn’t find it hard to get creative with the prompts each day. I simply take photos of what already exists around me and usually take these with the camera on my phone, so nothing fancy is needed.
Photo a day provides a great exercise in mindfulness as well as the opportunity to look at the world around you in a new way.
Below is a gallery of the images I took in December 2014, with the relevant daily prompts listed above. I’m really happy with the results and it’s great to look back on the images at the end of the month and to have them as a keepsake for the future.
Did you take part in the photo a day challenge, or do you plan to do so in the future?
