I love blogging!

I love blogging - Ever-changing Life of a Mum

Yes! Yes, I do!

Yesterday I had the great opportunity to attend my very first blogging event where I got to meet fellow bloggers I had only ever chatted to online and chat with a number of brands about some of the products they offer for children and families.

While I only launched my blog a few months ago, I was lucky enough to be invited to the Bloggers BBQ run by Kids Business held at The Park Melbourne in Albert Park. One of the best things was that I was able to bring along Miss 9 and Miss 5 as it was a family event with plenty of activities for the kids to enjoy, including the chance to meet one of the Octonauts.

In the past I have hated networking events. Even though I’m an extrovert, I think there’s nothing worse than standing in a room full of people making small talk.

But not this time. The opportunity to chat with others about something I am truly passionate about was fabulous! I walked away from the event with my hands full of goodie bags wondering why I never made the decision to start blogging earlier. And it wasn’t just the freebies talking!

Yesterday, I confidently spoke with a number of brands and found out more about some of their products including Closer to Nature baby feeding products, Dyson fans, Australian Scholarships Group Little Learners packs, Cocobella Kids coconut water, Annie Sloan chalk paint plus many more! In the future, I hope to have the opportunity to road test a few products and add these reviews to my blog.

I guess it took a major life change and minor family crisis for me to make the decision to walk away from my job and focus my career on blogging and freelance writing. But I’m so glad I made the decision and look forward to what the future may hold and where blogging may lead  me – which could be anywhere!

The ability to be creative and do what I love the most – write! – while having more time to spend with my young family is unbeatable. Did I say how much I love blogging?

  1. Sounds like you had a brilliant time, I’m jealous! Can’t wait for my first blogging event. I would LOVE to walk away from my boring job and write full-time. I shall follow your blog for inspiration!

    • Thanks for following Laney. It was a BIG decision to make, but the best one for my family right now. I’m consider myself extremely lucky to be in a position to be able to do it. I just checked out your blog and it looks great! Wow, four kids under 6 – I think I might need to follow you for some inspiration myself!

  2. I was there too and it was my first bloggers bbq. I flew down from Brisbane. I love blogging so much! Its so awesome to be able to do something you are so passionate about. I’ve started doing freelance writing too and I don’t know why I didn’t do it earlier.

  3. Sounds and looks like you had a fantastic day (and you got to meet Captain Barnacles!). So glad that you are loving blogging – I wish I got into it sooner too as it is so much fun. I’ve got my first blogging event next month (Problogger event in Perth) and although I’m a little nervous, I can’t wait to meet other bloggers and soak up all the information and general bloggy goodness.
