Can you believe it’s only a little over a month until Christmas?!
I’ve already started to get organised and, for me, Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas without making batch (or two!) of these delicious chocolate truffles!
I’ve been making the same recipe all of my life! It’s handwritten in the back of an old school recipe book by my older sister. I think it was one of the very first things I ‘cooked’ in the kitchen when I was a kid because it’s just so simple!
These chocolate truffles also make a great homemade Christmas gift. Last year we added some Cherry Ripe bars to the mix and made a few batches to give to teachers as presents. It was a hit!
But I still don’t think you can beat the original recipe which I’m sharing with you today.
It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas …
My Christmas preparations got off to an early start this year after I was invited to attend the grand opening of the 2015 Myer Melbourne Giftorium store in Bourke Street last Friday.
I was rather excited as I absolutely love Christmas and in some way Myer has always been a part of my family’s celebrations.
Each year we make a special trip into the city to check out the Myer Christmas windows (which open on 10 November this year by the way) then let the girls select a new ornament for the tree from the Christmas shop and take a ride on the Santaland train.
This time round it was just me and Baby (who celebrates her first Christmas this year!) taking the lift up to the sixth floor to explore all that the Myer Melbourne Giftorium has to offer. Let’s just say that Miss 6 and Miss 10 were not happy they had to go to school that day!
With only one more week until the end of term, I have been busily preparing Christmas gifts to give to my daughter’s teachers.
This year, I decided to make homemade presents which my girls have had great fun in helping to create.
Here is what we created ….
