Re-discovering my gratitude journal - Ever-changing Life of a MumAt the beginning of last year I went out a purchased myself a cute little hardcover book that I intended to use as my gratitude journal.

It was a brand new year and, having read so much about the positives of writing down your thoughts, I was keen to start a gratitude journal of my very own.

It lasted just 26 days. I often saw the book sitting on my shelf, grimaced then scolded myself for not following through on my intentions.

I really dislike setting new year resolutions for this exact reason.

But little did I know that this book would so much back to me more than a year later.

2016 is here – it’s time to breathe

2016 Breathe - Ever-changing Life of a MumTake a deep breath in, take a deep breath out. The new year is here and there are 366 fabulous days ahead of us (yep, it’s a leap year folks) to make, create and be who you want to be.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m not one for setting new year’s resolutions as all too often they tend to be broken bringing up unwanted feelings of guilt and unhappiness, and seriously who wants or needs that?!

Instead I prefer to set intentions for my year ahead. Intentions that can bubble along and allow for flexibility and movement as the days, weeks, months roll by and with a young family that’s the way it has to be!

This year, I have though decided to set myself a word, something that I can hopefully come back to again and again to re-set myself as I need to.

I’ve tried a few on and the one I keep coming back to is: ‘Breathe’.
