Living on a budget, I’m always on the lookout for ways to help reduce my family’s living expenses and one simple way is through the use of reusable food pouches in my children’s lunch boxes, in the kitchen and around the home.
Since discovering Sinchies last year – you can read my full review here – they have become one of my favourite items to use, particularly in the kitchen but also more generally around my home.
They have saved me many dollars along the way as I no longer need to buy cling wrap or throw away ziplock bags any where near as often as I used to. The initial cost of purchasing the bags and pouches is well worth it in the end when you consider the number of times they can be used over and over and over again. This is a win not only for your bank account but also for the environment!
I use reusable bags and pouches for so many things now, I don’t think a day goes by that I don’t pull out, open or wash one of these bags or pouches.
Whether it be making school lunches and snacks, storing items around the home or when travelling on holidays, uses for reusable food pouches and bags are almost endless.
I thought I’d share a few of the ways my family uses reusable food pouches.
School is almost back and this year I’m determined to stay organised by putting a few simple strategies into place.
Even after all of these years, I often find it takes me several weeks to get back into the swing of things once my children return to school but I’ve found some simple ways to help keep on top of things in our family.
Let’s face it, getting organised and staying organised goes well beyond the chime of the 3.30pm school bell. Beyond the school lunch box there are after school activities, meal planning, appointments and family schedules to take into account.
Here are some ways I find useful to keep everyone on track in my family …

With three children who seem to be growing up very quickly, it feels like I’m constantly in the kitchen creating the next meal or snack to fuel their little bodies.
Did I mention they are growing? Like really, really fast! It seems like I have only just fed them when the next cry of “Mum, I’m hungry!” comes from one of their mouths.
I recently had the opportunity to put a fantastic assortment of reusable pouches to the test thanks to Sinchies.
I was so excited to receive the package in the mail and get started on trying out these reusable pouches with my family.
I kindly received the Sinchies Big Kids lunchbox pack (consisting of 5 x 140ml pouches, 5 x 200ml pouches, 5 x sandwich bags, 5 x snack bags and 2 x wrap bags) – pretty much everything I could possibly need to fill my school children’s lunch boxes – as well as a pack of 10 Sinchies Pops (reusable iceblock pouches) and some Sip’n silicone lids for my toddler. Sinchies even provided me with a very handy cleaning brush!
